EKU Online Nursing Degrees Again Ranked in the Top 100 by U.S. News and World Report

Eastern Kentucky University’s online nursing degree programs have been recognized among the nation’s best in U.S. News & World Report’s recently announced 2015 Best Online Education Program Rankings. EKU ranks in the Top 100 for Online Graduate Nursing Programs.

The EKU Online MSN program ranked 61st in the nation, continuing a reputation for excellence in nursing education. EKU Online nursing degrees were introduced in January 2013, and EKU was ranked 79th by U.S. News in the first year.

“We are so pleased that once again we have been selected for this honor. The selection of our program gives testimony to the outstanding nursing educators here at EKU, who are focused on student success!” said Dr. Mary Clements, chair of the Department of Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing.

U.S. News chooses factors that weigh how online programs are being delivered and their effectiveness at awarding affordable degrees in a reasonable amount of time. More than 130 institutions granting master's degrees in nursing accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education or National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission were evaluated.

The factor given the most weight in the methodology was student engagement, which included the accessibility and responsiveness of instructors and the ability to interact with faculty and classmates. Reviewers also considered faculty credentials, peer reputation, student services and admissions selectivity.
